Sourdough Brownies

I always have a big jar of sourdough starter hanging out in my fridge. It’s easy to care for and gives me the freedom to make sourdough everything. Pretty quickly you start getting experimental and using the discard in all sorts of recipes. Just like a dollop of sour cream can add a lovely depth of flavor and moisture, so can sourdough discard!
These brownies were born from that spirit of experimentation. I took my ever-popular classic brownie recipe, and gave it a twist using some leftover sourdough starter. The discard gives a subtle something extra, which only complements the rich, fudgy, indulgent texture and taste of this easy brownie recipe.
