Mini Caramel Apple Tarts
Super easy tarts with a stove-top filling and a surprisingly convenient, shatteringly crisp tart shell.
I really love apple pie. I also really love baking (obviously 😉 ); however, I don’t always want to bake an apple pie when the craving strikes. I consider it a project bake because the best apple pies will have a beautiful, buttery homemade pie crust and a fresh apple filling, which takes time. While I don’t think making the pie is hard (I actually do really enjoy making pie), it just requires a lot of time that I don’t always have.
You have to make and chill the pie dough, make the filling, then roll the pie dough, and assemble it. Then it bakes and cools for quite a while. Plus, while it’s in the oven, you have to babysit it a little bit. Tent it with foil, and make sure it’s fully cooked, golden brown, and perfect. This is why I say it’s a project bake. A delicious project that’s worth it when you have the time! But I wanted to come up with something that was just as satisfying with a fraction of the time and effort needed.
