Apple Pie Cinnamon Rolls
Tender apple pie filling is wrapped up in a pillow-soft spiced dough with maple cream cheese frosting.
As we are coming off the crest of peak apple season, I couldn’t say farewell to the season without an extra-special recipe. I wanted to give you a really fun variation of the classic pillow-soft Preppy Kitchen cinnamon rolls, specifically created for all of you! The classic recipe is a huge crowd-favorite and really special to me.
My husband Brian is a self-proclaimed “cinnamon roll connoisseur,” and I spent years perfecting the recipe and technique for making his idyllic, super-soft, gooey-centered cinnamon roll. Ever since then, I’ve wanted to riff on the base recipe in special, seasonal ways.
So, I’ve made Apple Pie Cinnamon Rolls. These combine the best of both worlds of two favorite treats. You get a pillowy soft, melt-in-your-mouth cinnamon roll full of brown sugar and fall warming spices. And of course, a cream cheese frosting that’s more luscious than you can imagine— this time, flavored with maple syrup instead of powdered sugar.
